The Studio

DM Penny Press was established in 2015. Over the last six years the studio has been available for use by printmakers who do not have the equipment or space for their own studio.  The studio has the capacity for 5 members.   

Currently there are openings for new members.

The studio is 650 sft, multiple work stations and a variety of equipment for differents methods of printmaking. The equipment is shared by all members, and its the resposibility of each member to keep the studio clean and organized.

Membership

The membership cost is $90/month.  The membership benefits are:

  • A key to the studio
  • A personal plastic bin for ink and supplies
  • A flat file drawer for paper
  • Use of all studio equipment, newsprint, rags and cleaning supplies

 

Studio Equipment

You are responsible for supplying your own ink and paper and any specialty tools you need for your art work. The following studio equipment is available to all members. 

  • Windows Laptop, Photoshop 6.0, Wi-Fi, laser and ink jet printers
  • H13 HEPA True air purifier
  • 24x48 intaglio press, 15x30 intaglio press, 16x32 litho press
  • Kelsey Model F Letter Press and vartiety of type
  • Small fridge, microwave, water cooler hot/cold, Keurig cofee machine
  • Small oven for heating plates applied with BIG resist (Not for food), Hair dryer
  • Plastic bins for personal supplies and a flatfile drawer for your paper
  • Cutting mat, tear bar, large ruler, magnifying glasses, paper soaking trays
  • Newsprint and old phone books
  • Work areas, drawing table with tracing light and portable drafting board
  • Large drying rack, community printmaking tools, community hardware tools
  • Safety equiment: Eye wash station, fatigue mats, basic first aid kit
  • Solarplate light box and magnetic board
  • Cleaning supplies
